All businesses that are unincorporated, and operating under a name other than the name of the owner ("doing business as--or dba's) must register with the Town Clerk’s Office by completing an application, which can be obtained from the Office of Development and Inspectional Services.
Once the paperwork has been completed, please return it to ODIS for their approval and then bring all paperwork to the Town Clerk’s Office for preparation of the Business Certificate. The cost is $40.00.
Please note if there are multiple owners of the business all owners must appear before the Town Clerk to take an oath as part of the certificate application process. Or, the signatures must all be notarized.
A Business Certificate is valid for four years and you will be forwarded a renewal letter one month prior to expiration.
