IMPORTANT SPENCER PUBLIC SURVEY
Spencer Hazard Mitigation Plan
All Spencer residents are asked to assist us with our Hazard Mitigation Planning efforts by completing the following online survey. The survey can be completed in 5-10 minutes. The survey is available online at the following link: http://www.cmrpc.org/hazard-mitigation-plan-survey.
Your responses to the survey will assist CMRPC and the Town of Spencer to develop a hazard mitigation plan to help protect the town from future natural disasters.
“As we have seen during recent events in Texas, Florida and Puerto Rico, the best time to protect our communities is before a disaster. Public participation in the survey will help Spencer to develop appropriate strategies to mitigate future natural hazards locally.” – Andrew Loew, CMRPC
Spencer Hazard Mitigation Plan Survey
In partnership with the Central Massachusetts Regional Planning Commission (CMRPC), the Town of Spencer is now developing a local Hazard Mitigation Plan. The plan will help the Town to prioritize actions and access federal funds to reduce risks from future natural disasters, including floods, severe storms, winter storms, droughts and wildfires. As part of the planning process, the Town is seeking input from local residents and other key stakeholders through a public survey.
A presentation of the draft plan will be made at a Board of Selectmen’s meeting later this fall. Please watch our web site for public hearing announcements.
If you have any questions about the survey or the hazard mitigation planning project overall, please feel free to email Steven J. Tyler, P.E., Utilities & Facilities Superintendent at firstname.lastname@example.org.
