Survey Results 2017

Created by Finance Committee and Board of Selectmen

During the winter of 2017, while preparing for the Annual Town Meeting to set the budget for Fiscal Year 2018, it became clear to the members of the Spencer Finance Committee that we in the town had reached a critical point in our ability to fund every day town services given our current operating budget. In response, the members of the Finance Committee and the Board of Selectmen have initiated a process to develop vision and mission statements to guide elected and appointed officials in financial planning and in making budget decisions over the next five years.

We believe it is critical that all town citizens and business owners have a say thus we seek your cooperation.

Phase One, a series of eight public forums and focus groups which was held from August to October, provided invaluable insight that assisted in developing Phase Two, the Spencer Finance Committee and Board of Selectmen Survey thanks to participation by many citizens, officials, employees, parents and business people.

The survey sought input from all town residents including children and young adults. It was open to Spencer residents from age 6 up, Spencer business owners, property owners, and town employees. Each individual was encouraged to respond separately. Your participation is helping us to identify Spencer’s greatest assets, explore our prospects, share our hopes and determine measurable results that will tell us we’ve achieved our desired future.

The survey closed on January 15th. Click here to see the results unedited: Survey Results. Thank you for your interest and participation. Please share any additional comments with us.
