Trustees’ Report
April 11, 2023

In Attendance:
Cheryl Donahue, Director
Katheryn Smith, Children’s Room

Meeting was called to order at 12:25 p.m.
Mary Anne made a motion to approve minutes from last
meeting. Alyson seconded. Motion approved.

Children’s Room:
*Community Connections held programs with us in February
and March. We will continue to be on their weekly schedule
moving forward.
*Two story time sessions have been offered each Tuesday in
March and April.
*Drop-in activities continue in children’s dept.
*We Read It newsletter goes out monthly.
*Grab and Go giveaways are available each month for patrons.
This month we gave away “plant a sunflower” kits.

*(2) We raffled off a Dr. Seuss paint set in March and will be
raffling off 5 kid’s fishing poles in April.
*We had a STEAM challenge, Pokemon club, Art club, Graphic
Novel Book Club and Arduino program with Mr. Bill.
*We ran a Dungeons and Dragons program with teens in
February and March called Honey Heist. There will be another
program in May called “The Queen’s Curse”.
*We are running a Peeps Diorama contest that will end on
April 17 th .
*Sewing Club meets Wednesdays at 3:30.
*Katie attended a Middle Grade Magic via Zoom on March 9 th
and Small Libraries Chat on March 14 th .
*Katie purchased Magformers to add to the magnetic building
materials and is looking into the cost of news puppets for the
puppet theater.
 

Director’s Report:
*Pause meditation program is held Tuesdays with Wendy
O’Leary. She also conducted a Zoom meeting for a book
discussion group on March. Her latest book “It’s OK”, launched
on March 28 th with a book signing at the library. Copies of the
book will be distributed to local schools.
*”Coffee Chat” on Monday mornings started on March 6 th .
Mary Baker Wood helped facilitate the conversation at several
meetings.

*Denise visited Lincoln Hill Manor on March 22 nd .
*”America Divided” virtual program co-sponsored with MA
libraries was held on March 7 th .
*American Legion hosted a murder mystery program, “Mangia,
Meatballs and Murder” on April 4 th with 40 participants.
*Library board of trustees meeting scheduled for March 14 th
was cancelled due to inclement weather.
*Cheryl attended “Crisis Communication” webinar on March
16 th , CWMARS users council meeting on March 21 st and area
directors meeting on March 22 nd .
*Cheryl participated in budget presentation for Finance
Committee on March 16 th .
*Capital Committee conducted a library walk through on
March 25 th .
*Boilers were inspected on March 16th.
*Library was closed on March 14 th due to inclement weather.
 

BUILDING UPDATES:
*Bill Cundiff presented a draft of the Building Envelope
Evaluation & Capital Assessment Planning from LiRo. Board of
trustees will review materials and get back to Bill with
questions or concerns.
