Finance Committee

About Us

The Finance Committee oversees town finances. It consists of eleven residents of the Town, appointed by the Town Moderator for rotating three year terms, and meets regularly to consider any and all municipal questions and to make reports and/or recommendations to the citizens. Members conduct a rigorous review of the annual budget presented by the Town Administrator. Under its investigatory powers, the committee may oversee and audit municipal departments as needed. The Committee is responsible for analyses of pressing municipal concerns, financial and otherwise which it identifies and addresses through subcommittees and liaisons. It serves an essential function in the system of checks and balances of local government.
