December 13, 2022

In Attendance:
Cheryl Donahue, Director

Meeting was called to order at 12:32 p.m.

Mary Anne made a motion to approve minutes from last meeting.  Alyson seconded. Motion approved.

Children’s Room:

*Community Connections held programs with us in November. We will continue to be on their weekly schedule moving forward.

*Toddler and Pre-K story time programming is being offered on Tuesdays.  Katie will be running a joint program (Wiggles and Giggles) with Community Connections on Tuesdays to see if that is better attended.

*Drop-in activities continue in children’s dept.

*We Read It newsletter goes out monthly.

*We had a STEAM survival challenge, make it with Lego and Pokemon club, Art club, Graphic Novel Book Club and Tinker Time.

*We had 2 Dungeons and Dragons sessions for teens and a Therapy Dog program for K-8.

*Katie attended Youth Services Chat on November 10th, Small Libraries Chat on November 17th, Teen Summit on November 18th, The ABC’s of Reading Development on November 23rd and Community Connections Zoom Advisory Meeting on November 29th.

*Katie trained the new hires at the end of the month.

* Katie moved all supplies from the craft/tech service area to clear space for town/architecture firm to view water damage.

Director’s Report:

*Pause meditation program is held Tuesdays with Wendy O’Leary.

*Appleblossoms donated greens and flowers for a holiday centerpiece making program on November 21st.

*Denise visited Prouty Senior Living and Lincoln Hill Manor for outreach programs.

*Cheryl read aloud at an evening event at OSV Museum Education Center on December 6th.

*Cheryl participated in a virtual CMLA meeting on November 17th.

*Cheryl met with area directors in Sturbridge on November 17th.

*New hire training occurred on November 17th, 21st and 23rd.

*Library weekend reopening on December 3rd included giveaways, a music program and crafts and treats.

*Envelope study commenced on December 8th with a site visit from LiRo Corp.

*Utility price increases is a concern for 2023.

*Discussion of possible “Coffee and Conversation” one Saturday/month.
