Trustees’ Report
February 7, 2023
In Attendance:

Meeting was called to order at 12:36 p.m.
Mary Anne made a motion to approve minutes from last meeting. Alyson seconded. Motion approved.
Children’s Room:
*Community Connections held programs with us in January. We will continue to be on their weekly schedule moving forward.
*Giggles and Grove Program (with Miss Patty from Community Connections) was very successful.
*Drop-in activities continue in children’s dept.
*We Read It newsletter goes out monthly.
*Grab and Go giveaways are available each month for patrons.
*(2) Body parts puzzles were raffles in February.
*We had a STEAM survival challenge, make it with Lego and Pokemon club, Art club, Graphic Novel Book Club and started an Arduino program with Mr. Bill.
*We will be running a Dungeons and Dragons program in February called Honey Heist.
*Katie attended Community Connections Zoom Advisory Meeting on January 31st.
Director’s Report:
*Pause meditation program is held Tuesdays with Wendy O’Leary.
*Denise visited Prouty Senior Living and Lincoln Hill Manor for outreach programs. She also delivered books to patrons unable to visit the library.
*Jeff Bridges and Bill Cundiff spoke to the library trustees about ARPA funds and the envelope study on January 10th.
*Denise attended COA with Spencer Cultural Council grant writing.
*Denise attended memory café at the senior center on January 19th.
*Cheryl composed and submitted annual statement and capital and budget documentation by January 17th. Meetings to discuss with Jeff Brides took place on January 10th and 23rd.
*Envelope study commenced on December 8th with a site visit from LiRo Corp. Additional study using drone was completed on December 13th. Fire Dept. aided LiRo with bucket-ladder on December 8th and roof study on December 29th with roofing consultant returning for interior study on January 4th. Test pits were dug around the building on January 10th. Civil engineer visited on January 13th and conducted drain inspection.
*Fire extinguishers were inspected on January 31st.
*Library closed early (5:00) on January 23rd due to inclement weather.
Meeting adjourned at 1:30.
