Trustees’ Report
May 2, 2023
In Attendance:

Meeting was called to order at 1:45 p.m.
Mary Anne made a motion to approve minutes from last
meeting. Alyson seconded. Motion approved.
Children’s Room:
*Community Connections held programs with us in March. We
will continue to be on their weekly schedule each month.
*Two story time sessions were offered each Tuesday in April.
*Drop-in activities continue in children’s dept.
*We raffled off several kids’ fishing poles in April.
*We Read It newsletter goes out monthly.
*There was a D&D campaign running in April called “The
Queen’s Curse”.
*We had a STEAM challenge, Pokemon club, Art club, Graphic
Novel Book Club, Sew Fun and Arduino program with Mr. Bill.
*We ran a Peeps Diorama contest in April.
*Katie is organizing the summer reading program schedule and
will have many fun, free programs for kids to attend. Programs
will be held at the library, Powder Mill Park, the Town Hall, the
Spencer Highway Garage and Spencer Fish & Game Club.
*Katie attended a Teen Program Planners meeting on April
25 th .
Director’s Report:
*Pause meditation program is held Tuesdays with Wendy
O’Leary. In person meetings resumed on April 18 th . She also
conducted a Zoom meeting/book discussion on April 12 th
*”Coffee Chat” on Monday mornings was held with 12
attendants each week. Mary Baker Wood helped facilitate the
conversation at several meetings.
*”Power of Words” poetry program was held on April 10 th .
*Denise delivered items to homes of patrons unable to visit the
library.
*Writers’ group resumed in person on April 24 th .
*High school students’ art exhibition is on display through May.
A reception was held in the reading room on April 27 th
BUILDING UPDATES:
*LiRo submitted report in draft form for final review
*Rugs in lower level hallway were soaked with rain over the
weekend of April 22 nd- 23 rd . The facilities were wet-vacuumed
on April 24 th .
Next Meeting is July 5th at 12:30.
