MassDOT Complete Streets Program Status for Spencer

Spencer Complete Streets Tier II Priorities, Sidewalk Betterment and ADA Transition Plans approved by the Spencer Board of Selectmen on November 21, 2016 and was approved by MassDOT on March 2, 2017. Spencer is now approved to complete for Tier III funding for one or more projects on Complete Streets Tier II Prioroties Plan.

Complete Streets emphasize improving safety and access for pedestrians, cyclists and transit users. Municipalities are required to pass a Complete Streets Policy and to develop a Prioritization Plan to be eligible for construction funding. This session will gave an overview of the progress of the Complete Streets Program to date. It also featured three municipal perspectives on developing policies and prioritization plans, as well as highlight some of the first funded local projects. Moderators: Eileen Gunn, MassDOT and Lou Rabito, Howard Stein Hudson; Panelists: Aaron Clausen, City of Beverly; Nicolas Bosonetto, City of Lowell; Steven J. Tyler, Town of Spencer.

Regarding all planned and ongoing construction projects this office provides up to date notices using our construction updates email list.  If you wish to be on our construction project status and updates email update list please send an email requesting to be placed on the Spencer Construction updates list to Billy Krukowski. Please include “Spencer Construction Updates” in your email subject line.  A majority to all of our larger road and infrastructure (i.e., water and sewer) construction project updates will be made electronically using this email list.  Also, we try to provide advanced notification of other utility projects (i.e., National Grid Gas) whenever possible.
